Book on Film

Silent Movies bought at Longfellow Books

$29.89 (w/tax & minus discounts and coupons)

I love silent films. This book is filled with amazing stills and posters from the early part of cinema.
If you're looking for information on a particular actor, like Louise Brooks or Clara Bow, it only gives you a one page write up and a few photos so you might want to think twice about buying it. The original price was $45.

I wore this to the Videoport holiday party.
I wish I had a better picture of it. It's my new favorite shirt.

Hellboy

Hellboy Comics bought at Casablanca Comics

$6.00

It's one of my favorite comics plus I felt guilty coz I didn't pick them up when I should have. They're nice enough to save these for me at Casablanca, I might as well buy them.

X-Mas stuff

Mailer, bulbs, tree pin, and garland bought at the Good Cause Thrift Store

Duck and Pumpkin

Halloween duck and a pumpkin bought at the Christmas Tree Shop

about $4

I couldn't resist.

X-mas Gifts

So far I've spent about $30 on x-mas gifts.
Sorry there's no pictures but I can't really do that without giving the presents away.

As of 11/20/2008 I've spent an additional $60 on x-mas gifts. I'm only going to spend around $30 more.

So X-Mas total will be around $120-130 dollars.

Great Big Sea

T-shirt bought at a Great Big Sea concert

$30

Wow. Thirty dollars for a t-shirt. What has the world come to? Still, it is a cool shirt and since it is my favorite happy band I guess it's okay.

Transmetropolitan: Lust for Life

Transmetropolitan: Lust for Life bought at Casablanca Comics

Felt like buying myself something fun. This is fun right? I've had the first one forever and have been meaning to buy this. It's my kind of comic book.

Also, I'm listening to Rock Lobster.

Salem, Ma

Tourist stuff bought at various shops in Salem, Mass

About $35 bucks

Two buttons, one that has a witch and the other with Lizzy Borden. A witch post card. Handcuff earrings made by local Salem artist Von Wolf.

The t-shirt was the last thing I bought after looking all over Salem for a cool child size tee or a XS adult tee but alas what people now call small used to be medium and as a little lady I can never find chintzy tourist type shirts in my size, ever.

$10 of the above price went to food at a great place called Cafe Kuscho and another $5 went to candy.

Tricky & PJ Harvey

Tricky Broken Homes single featuring PJ Harvey bought at Bull Moose Music

$2.97 (plus tax)

This song kept playing in my head so I bought it. It's not the greatest song ever but, yeah.

Evangelista T-Shirt

Evangelista T-Shirts bought through the mail

$25

Two Evangelista t-shirts and some extra surprises. Might just be the last thing you see on here for a while. I really have to tighten my budget and that means no more spending.

Star Trek and Yoko Ono

Star Trek 2009 Calendar & Yoko Ono Yes I'm A Witch Cd bought at Bull Moose Music

$17.81

I've been re-watching all the old Star Trek episodes and was super ecstatic to find this calendar.
The Ono Cd was only $2.97 so I couldn't pass it up, she collaborates with Le Tigre, Peaches, and many others. It's a riot.

Bikini Kill

Bikini Kill The Singles bought at Bull Moose Music

$9.67 (I had some store credit so it was $5 off)

I like Bikini Kill and yet I dislike Kathleen Hanna. For some reason I find her annoying. Perhaps it's the articles and interviews I've seen her in, she seems quite insipid.

The great thing about this album is that Joan Jett is on a few tracks including Rebel Girl.

Ice Cream

Ice Cream bought at Mable's

$3.55

NY Daily News bought at Joe's
Twin size Sheets & Curtain bought at The Good Cause Thrift Shop

$.75 for the paper
$3.50 for the sheets & Curtain

The curtain was half off with good reason for it had a tear in it. It didn't really matter because I used them to cover the lettuce and swiss chard in the garden as we are going to have an early frost tonight.

Necklace

Turquoise necklace bought at Clay City

$10.50

I needed it to go with my outfit for my girlfriends birthday which is coming up.
Yeah, yeah. I didn't really need it. I just wanted it. I know. Lame consumer capitalist materialistic woman. Still, it's now mine.
And it looks great on me.

Lunch With My Sister

Chips & Guacamole, Pesto Chicken Quesadillas, Pepsi, and a Banana Smoothie bought at Mesa Verde

$29.85 plus $10 tip*

We kinda went dutch on this one. She paid $23 making my share $16.85. I don't really feel bad for paying less because I usually buy her breakfast when she comes to town.
Does this make me a bad sister?

*Is this a good tip? She was a good waitress and she even called my work to tell them my sister left her glasses behind. (She recognized me when we came in as the "video store girl")

Paper and Lottery Ticket

NY Daily News & Lottery Ticket bought at Joe's Smoke Shop

$.75

It's got better comics than the Post.

Saturday, September 13, 2008

Dr Pepper bought at Joe's Smoke Shop

$7.30 (the whole thing)

I love Halloween.

Friday, September 12, 2008

Folders

Recycled hanging Folders (25) bought at Office Depot

$9.96

These were actually cheaper than the non-recycled hanging folders.

Rainy Tuesday Treats

Hot Chocolate bought at Coffee By Design
NY Daily News and Lottery ticket bought at Joe's Smoke Shop
Sno Balls bought at 7/11

$5.62 (the whole lot)

Okay, so it's raining outside and I'm feeling like a junk food addict. This blog is making me realize how much crap I eat.
I swear I eat healthy stuff. I even had a salad for lunch today and I'm bringing another salad to work for tonight.

Update: The lotto ticket was a winner! But just a buck so I used it to get another lotto ticket from Joe's.

Sunday, September 7, 2008

Snacks

Nantucket Nectar Big Cranberry bought at The Works Cafe
Chips Ahoy and Uncle Ray's Chips bought at the Corner General Store

$6.50 (the whole lot)

Um... perhaps it's best not to say too much about my junk food habit anymore.
The cranberry juice is good for me, right?

Tea & Cookie

Green Tea and Chocolate Chip cookie bought at Maple's Organics

$3.48 (w/tax)

Boy I eat junk likes there's no tomorrow.
I also had a Butterfinger candy bar (no picture I'm afraid) which was $1 that I got at Anthony's.

Saturday, September 6, 2008

Shoes & Undergarments

Turquoise Sydney Shoes & various undergarments bought at Target

$67.14 (grand total)

I didn't really need these shoes but I really couldn't pass them by. They are so cute! I don't know what I'll wear them with and they're not really something I could wear to work but I had to have them.
The undergarments are a necessity and I didn't really plan to include necessities but since I did say I'm posting everything I buy, here they are.

Thursday, September 4, 2008

Newspaper

Portland Press Herald bought at Dunkin Donuts

60 cents

I normally wouldn't go into DD but I didn't have any change and when I saw the headline "Man tried to rent girl, 12, for sex, police say" I had to get it. I couldn't believe this shit still goes on.

As for Palin, what a fucking joke.
Because of her I'm voting for Obama.

Toothbrush

Preserve Toothbrush bought at Whole Foods

$2.72 (w/tax)

Last night I dropped my toothbrush into the toilet, a rather silly thing to do but it can be said that I often do such silly things. I prefer Preserve toothbrushes because you can get a mailer and send them back to be recycled.

Recycling is fun.

Envelopes

4 Clasp Envelopes bought at CVS

$1.88 (including tax)

I went to the library to print out an application for a job (the printout cost me 80 cents) and realized I needed an envelope to mail it in. So there you go.

Tea

Green Tea bought at Zarra's Monumental Coffeehouse

$1.61

Zarra is a cool guy. I love his coffeehouse for it's quaint atmosphere and this lovely hole in the wall. I hope it will never be fixed.

Cd, Zine, & Buttons

8 Inch Betsy Cd sent money through mail to Queer Control Records in California

$17.01 (cost of Cd + money order)

Danger! Hole Zine #4, & D!H Zine buttons sent money through mail to Liouxsie in New Jersey

$4 (1 zine + 2 buttons)

I've been meaning to send away for this stuff for a while but am just now getting to it. The photo is of the letter I sent Queer Control and issues of D!H zine that I already have. Pretty great stuff. You can find Danger! Hole Zine on myspace.

Update: 8 Inch Betsy cd came today 9/15/08 with two stickers.

Tea & Cake

Peppermint Tea and Lemon Tea Cake bought at Breaking New Grounds

$5.05 (w/tax)

Kinda pricey right? This is one of my downfalls. I get hungry and need to eat something so I eat crap. At least I got off the coffee.

My sweet tooth needs to rot.

Apple & Cheese

Apple & Granda Biraghi Cheese bought at the Public Market House

$3.00 (it was $3.03 but they had a penny jar)

Locally grown apple and some funky picnic cheese. I brought a salad for lunch but was really hungry and stopped to get these on the way to work. The cheese was kinda gross but I wanted to try something different.

Monday, September 1, 2008

Water

Poland Spring water 1L bought at the Corner General Store

$2.35 (including tax & bottle deposit)

How decadent of me to be able to afford a bottle of pricey spring water. This is probably why people in other countries think we're nuts.
Good water though.

Sebago Lake Stuff

Stuff for a trip to Sebago Lake bought at Joe's Smoke Shop

$8.69 (the whole lot)

These are all the things you need for a great day at the beach: Pringles, Smart food, Lipton Lemon Tea, Life&Style mag, and The NY Daily News.
Well sure you also need sun screen, beach towels, and sunglasses but we already had those things.

CD-R

CD-R for Music bought at Bull Moose Music.

$3.94 (3 of them plus tax)

Yet again an item my girlfriend asked me to pick up for her. She makes a lot of mixed Cd's.

Saturday, August 30, 2008

Lettuce

Lettuce Seedlings bought at the Deering Oaks farmers market.

$6.30 (two containers, including tax)

There are six lettuce seedlings in this pack. It's way cheaper to grow your own veggies. We've been growing a bunch of swiss chard from seeds. Did you know swiss chard is $3.50 for a small bunch at Hannaford? Crazy.

Dvd Case

Amaray Dvd Case bought at Videoport.

$1.67 (including tax)

I bought this case for my girlfriend. She's gonna pay me back but I figure since I used my money to buy it I should include it in my purchases.

Belt and Necklace

Belt and Wooden Necklace bought at the Iele Tree & Time Lag Records

$8 (each)

The belt is a little big but I think I can get it to work. It says "Tanjay" and "16" on the inside of it.
The necklace is wooden with a metal chain and clasp.
