ipod nano
Pink ipod nano bought at the Apple store in the Maine Mall
$56.45 ($149 plus tax minus Birthday money)
This is the first ipod I've ever owned. I'm a bit behind when it comes to technology.
In the background is the transistor radio that I use to tune in Heritage radio out of Yarmouth, ME.
Does anyone even remember transistor radios anymore?

More Chaplin
A Woman A Man Walked By
PJ Harvey & John Parish 'A Woman A Man Walked By' album and single bought online Townsend Records
$29.13 (both items including shipping)
I got these from England. I'm in love with Polly Harvey.
It's a pretty amazing album, the more I listen to it the more I love it.
Standout tracks are Black Hearted Love, Sixteen Fifteen Fourteen, and A Woman A Man Walked By/The Crow... "Sucking on a little pea"
The single hasn't arrived yet as it's not released until April 13th but I'll post it when it's here.
Update 4/14/09: The single is here! I love getting mail that says 'Royal Mail'. Within a Month and False Fire are great songs.

Unicorn shirt!
Louise Brooks! again!
Portrait of an Anti-Star bought on Amazon.com
$28.99 (including shipping)
As far as I know this book is out-of-print. It's a nice addition to my LB collection.
Shipping and handling is why I try not to buy online.
It's cheaper to order it from your local stores.
Interested in Louise Brooks? Check out the LB society;

1st Edition Book (American)
American first edition of Richard Adams' The Plague Dogs bought at Yes Books
$26.25 (including tax)
There is a British edition that came before this one but this is the first American edition of this book. That's important to know.
On ebay it's being sold for $75 right now, so I got a deal on it.
It's in good condition with only a few minor flaws (sun damage).
Inside the book I found the following school request form from who I assume was the original owner of this book. I wonder where she is now?

Louise Brooks Shirt
Louise Brooks shirt bought at cafepress.com
$26.99 (including tax & shipping)
I've been looking for a good Louise Brooks shirt for a while now.
I realized the other day that because I haven't been spending much money I seem to have quite a bit of it. So I went on a bit of an online spending spree.
I'll post the items as they arrive.

Coin Wrap
Blue Coin Wrap for Belly Dancing bought at Siempre Mas
$14.96 ("original" price $19.95)
Siempre Mas does this thing where they take the new items they just got in, mark it with a price, cross that price out, and then mark it with a lower price. It seems like you're getting a deal or that everything is always on sale but really they're just tricking you into buying something you might not have bought. It's a scam.
But it works for them and most tourists don't know any better.
I bought this for my belly dancing class with Ayperi which was $60 for 7 lessons.

Classic Movies
Four Charlie Chaplin movies (City Lights, The Gold Rush, Modern Times, and The Great Dictator) and Grand Hotel bought at Bull Moose Music
$72.30
Seems like an awful lot of money to be spending during a recession but I just HAD to get these.
Each of the Chaplin films was $14-$15 and Grand Hotel was $8. They were used copies sold to Bull Moose by the family of an elderly man who had passed away. They are all in excellent condition. There goes my spending money for the next two months because this really is the last I'll be spending on frivolous things for a while.

Water Bottles
Water Bottles and Splash Guards bought at L.L.Bean
$22.?? (lost the receipt)
Made in the USA! I don't trust water bottles or reusable mugs made in China anymore. The tea mug I bought a little while ago left a metalic taste in my mouth every time I used it so now it's just sitting there in the cupboard, unused.
I bought another one of these on 2/8/09 and spent another $10.

New Glasses
Anne Klein glasses bought at LensCrafters
$279.96 (frames & lenses plus tax and minus discount)
You can't really see it but these are a nice shade of eggplant purple. I'm rather glad to have glasses that show off my face a bit more. I've grown tired of the thick frames that have been popular the last few years.

Tea with Dutch
Tea Tumbler
Namu Baru Tea Tumbler bought at Clay City Redux
$11.01? (I can't remember what the change was but I know it was $11)
It's unfortunate that Clay City is going out of business. It's a great little place to find gifts for people you don't know very well.
This tumbler is vacuum insulated and kept my tea hot for several hours. Also it has a built in tea infuser! Neat.
Update 1/26/09: This tea mug is awful! It leaves a metalic taste in my mouth after every sip I take. The hot tea isn't worth slowly poisoning myself.

Swtich cover
Robot stickers
Robot stickers and tealights bought at the Dollar Tree
$4.20
Three sheets of robot stickers to put up in the bathroom. Remember the Star Trek calender?
It's in my bathroom now and I think these robots will look great beside it.
Candles are for emergencies! Sometimes the power goes out here in Maine. What with the ice storms and all.
Tony's Donuts!
